“They understand our needs. They understand where we’re coming from- from the animal side, they come to us before they do certain things, so you build trust.”

Newton Park

Newton Park

Newton Park

Lakeville, Indiana

Overview

Bob and Joyce Newton had one goal in mind: to build a facility for the kids of Lakeville. What they ended up with is Newton Park – a 35-acre premier sports complex complete with baseball, football, and soccer fields, a playground, an ice-skating pond, a picnic area, walking paths, a concession area, and a golden dome in the center of it all. Ancon Construction, a trusted leader in commercial construction, was selected to bring this vision to life. As a design-build firm, Ancon Construction collaborated closely with the Newton family to develop a plan that aligned with their vision, budget and operational needs.

Shiojiri Garden

Shiojiri Garden

Shiojiri Garden

Mishawaka, Indiana

Overview

One of the very few Japanese strolling gardens in Indiana, Shiojiri Garden symbolizes the sister-city relationship between Mishawaka and the city directly on the opposite side of the Earth, Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. The strolling garden is home to many large, colorful plants that deeply contrast the grey gravel that imitates water. Also, over 200 boulders are placed artfully in groupings, most often of 3 or 5, and situated to allow maximum contemplation. The garden also is home to four bridges. A teahouse stands at the far end of the garden, elevated to allow perfect viewing of the entire Shiojiri garden.
