Overview

The Morris Civic Plaza is a public space for gathering theatre patrons before and after shows, concerts, and musicals. The historic Morris Performing Arts Center is a backdrop for the fountains, landscaping, and seating. The terrace-like plaza with steps and differing levels acts as an informal stage, providing places for concerts and presentations. The plaza, designed and built to commemorate a long time city official, Jon R. Hunt, overlooks the skyline of South Bend and the St. Joseph River.

Ox Bow Tower

Overview

Ancon built the observation tower at Oxbow Park in 2015, which offers panoramic views of prairie, wetlands, and the river. A kiosk provides visitors information and historical photographs of the park and displays information on the surrounding vegetation and wildlife species. The first level of the tower is 20 feet above ground level and is ADA accessible.

Check out Ox Bow tower, a fun experience to see our community in a way you have never seen before.

“Ancon Construction stepped forward when we lost an icon at Ox Bow County Park. They were integral partner in the design and construction of the new Ox Bow Park Tower and insured the new design incorporated an ADA compliant level to meet the needs of all park users. The Tower once again is a place for visitors to get birds eye view of the park.”

Nibco Water and Ice Park

Overview

In 2007 Ancon built the NIBCO Water and Ice Park. As part of the Elkhart downtown revitalization effort, the NIBCO Ice Park is the first of its kind in the United States. This ice park goes beyond a traditional ice skate rink, containing a 13-foot-wide path that travels approximately 410 feet around and connects to a 90-foot round skating area. On the grounds is a warming hut with lockers, a skate rental area, and a concession stand. During the summer, the circular portion is a splash pad, and the path can be used for inline skating.

Overview

Studebaker water fountain comes to LIFE!
We enjoyed working on this project and seeing a historical piece of art flow water for the first time in 70 years.

“Ancon Construction built our restored 1906 Studebaker Electric Fountain and renovated Leeper Park. The proof of their fine work is in the result. The fountain is magnificent and the park is beautiful. Because Ancon had never built a fountain before, when they had any questions they were quick to contact the experts for help. They were easy to work with and finished on time. I would highly recommend Ancon for any construction project large or small.”
