Ancon Construction and Goshen Community Schools recently held a ground breaking ceremony to commence the construction of major building projects at both the Goshen Middle School and Goshen High School. Projects, which are estimated to be complete by Summer 2015, will include a new natatorium, expanded music facilities, repurposing of the former pools into educational spaces, and a remodeled/expanded cafeteria and food preparation area. The Ancon Design-Build team, including architect Barton-Coe-Vilamaa, originally competed in a Request for Qualifications process – which consisted of a seven team applicant pool of Design-Build teams. In January, Ancon scored in the “top 3” and moved on to the next round – the Request for Proposals process. On June 4th, Ancon outscored the other two teams and ultimately was awarded the contract.
Project Manager Sean Welty and Superintendent Lloyd Yoder will oversee the building projects.
