Ancon Construction is proud to congratulate Glen on earning his Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI).
The PMP is an internationally recognized professional credential designed for experienced project managers. Candidates must meet specific project management experience and education requirements and successfully complete a comprehensive examination covering project management principles, processes and best practices.
Glen had previously earned PMI’s Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certification before joining Ancon Construction. He chose to continue building his knowledge and skills by pursuing the PMP certification.
“I was motivated by wanting to better understand the project management profession and the best practices established by the largest project management organization in the world,” Glen said. “It is also an internationally recognized credential that provides assurance of the holder’s understanding of the project management profession.”
For Glen, one of the most valuable takeaways from the certification process was gaining a deeper understanding of best practices surrounding project startup and managing change — knowledge that can be applied directly to his work.
He has already used resources and practices from PMI on several occasions at Ancon, contributing to project planning efforts as well as improvements to internal systems and processes.
