Ancon Construction to be Recognized with Four Awards by Associated Builders and Contractors of Indiana/Kentucky


Ancon Construction is pleased to announce that it will be honored with four Excellence in Construction (EIC) awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Indiana/Kentucky. ABC’s Award Gala is scheduled to take place on September 26th in Indianapolis.

The ABC of Indiana/Kentucky Awards of Excellence program highlights outstanding projects by its members and promotes the high standards upheld by Merit Shop contractors. These awards demonstrate the high quality of work done by ABC-affiliated companies.

Doug VonGunten, President of Ancon Construction, said, “These projects and the acknowledgment of our team of employee-owners by these awards for their hard work through the projects that we design and build makes me extremely proud. This recognition is also a testament to our commitment and dedication to excellence as a team.”

Ancon Construction Shares Construction Award with Shady Creek Winery

Ancon Construction’s architectural team and project manager met with the owners of Shady Creek Winery last week to share the Associated Builders and Contractors of Indiana/Kentucky (ABC) Excellence in Construction Award. The award recognizes the winery’s recently completed renovation, building expansion, and site development projects.

“With such a unique construction project, we needed the right partner to bring our vision to life. Ancon’s entire team provided clear direction, attention to detail, and dedication to our project. Together, we established a gorgeous wine destination in the heart of Northwest Indiana to share with wine lovers for years to come,” said JT Schwartz, President of Shady Creek Winery.

Matt VanSoest shared, “The Shady Creek Winery project was a thrilling and rewarding project for the Ancon team. The multi-year endeavor achieved a highly detailed building, intricate interiors, and strong connections to the immediate landscape. Working with the Owner and producing a project which focuses so strongly on guest user experience was a great opportunity to further our understanding of how places and spaces impact people.”

Ancon Construction Shares Construction Award With TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre

Goshen, Ind., Thursday, November 10, 2022 – Ancon Construction’s president Doug VonGunten, Architect Ben King, and Project Manager Glen Kauffmann shared the Associated Builders and Contractors of Indiana/Kentucky, Excellence in Construction Merit Award with TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre.

“Ancon was first class through the entire process. I found we could always communicate in a transparent fashion, and I was kept up to speed along the way. I’d build and design again with them without hesitation,” said Dr. Daniel Klauer

Ben King shared, “It was an honor to work with Dr. Klauer through the design and construction of his new office. Bringing Dr. Klauer’s goals and dreams for his new location to life was a pleasure through our true design-build process. I am proud of our entire team, both office and field staff, for all they accomplished on this project.

Today Ancon Construction’s president, Doug VonGunten and Architect, Ben King, shared the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Indiana/Kentucky, Excellence in Construction (EIC) Award with Kryder & Harr Veterinary Clinic owners Jessica Murphy and Dr. Stephanie Harr. Kryder & Harr Veterinary Clinic, located at 13471 SR 23 in Granger, Indiana, is a deeply rooted business in Northern Indiana that has been providing veterinary services to our region for decades.

“Ancon’s boots were on the ground and their hearts were in this project. They made our hospital a home with lots of collaboration and time, we collectively built an incredible veterinary hospital to last the next 40 years,” said Jessica Murphy.

Doug VonGunten shared, “It was a pleasure to work alongside Jessica and her team. This project showcases Ancon’s strong design-build work and commitment to excellence. I could not be prouder of our team for their talent and hard work. This recognition reinforces the great things our employee-owners are doing. I am really excited about the future and what our team can accomplish.”
