South Bend, IN- ANCON Construction, a premier design-build construction firm, broke ground last month on South Bend’s latest hotel project. SpringHill Suites, a Marriott Property, will be located just north of Cleveland Road along SR 933, north of the Toll Road. The former building was demoed, and site and foundation work are already underway.
The new hotel will feature 92 rooms with suite amenities and larger room sizes geared toward the upper-moderate segment of the hospitality industry. There are more than 350 SpringHill Suites properties in North America. JSK Hospitality is the franchisee, and this marks the 3rd project they have chosen Ancon Construction to manage. In addition to performing general contractor duties, ANCON Construction also designed the hotel utilizing the standards set by Marriott for their most updated brand look. There is also an open building pad for future retail or restaurant development in front of the hotel with direct frontage on SR 933. Plans for the open pad have not been made public as several parties have shown interest.

The property is scheduled to open in 2019.
