Ancon and Dental Care Alliance are excited to announce that construction has begun on a dental center on the second floor of the IronWorks mixed-use building in Mishawaka.  The project, designed by Ancon, features a lobby/waiting room, receptionist area, staff lounge with balcony, staff offices, five treatment rooms, pedo bay, lab, and other support spaces.The “floor to ceiling” windows, located in the treatment rooms, provide stunning views to Robert C. Beutter Riverfront Park and the St. Joseph River.  The project, overseen by Project Manager Cullen Stanger, will be complete early-July.  Ancon and Dental Care Alliance have partnered on two other dental center projects which are located in Dunlap and Granger. 

  

Ancon is excited to announce the completion of the Tiki Hut, the newest venue at Coveleski Stadium in South Bend.  The Tiki Hut, located along the concourse between the playground and team gift shop, features a full service bar and outdoor deck area. Project Manager Rick Dieringer and Field Superintendent Chris Cormican oversaw the fast paced project which was complete before the Silver Hawks home opener.  Jones Petrie Rafinski, also responsible for other Coveleski Stadium campus renovations and upgrades, was the architect for the Tiki Hut.

Ancon Construction is excited to announce that a 23,600 sqft corporate office is complete at Project “A” in LaPorte.  The corporate office consists of several open and closed offices, conference rooms, executive suites, break rooms, a two story open office atrium, and second floor offices/open office area.  Most interior offices contain full storefront window/door systems to borrow day-lighting from the atrium space.  The project contains several “green” features such as solar faucets, water bottle drinking fountain, carpet tiles, LED lighting, 58 R-value in both wall and roof systems, perimeter “ribbon” windows, skylights, and fixed awning systems on the south and west building facades to block afternoon sun. 

Work will continue throughout the spring with installation of approximately 63,000 sqft of concrete parking and drive lanes, two outdoor patio areas, and recreating a natural ecosystem with native vegetation.  “Our client really pushed the boundaries in creating a state of the art office with its unique building features and “green” applications,” stated Ancon. 

  

Ancon Construction and Goshen’s Chamber of Commerce are excited to announce that construction has started on LaunchPad – a 3,000 square foot incubator space located on the second floor of the Chamber of Commerce Building.  The project, designed and project managed by Ancon, will include several conference rooms, break out areas, and an open office/incubator space.  The open office space features exposed ceilings/building systems and large windows which provide abundant day lighting.  Completion of the project will be around mid May.

LaunchPad will be a center for entrepreneurs to develop their business plans, receive advice from other experienced entrepreneurs, and take advantage of services provided by supporting and partnering organizations as they launch their new businesses.  They will also have access to community copy machines, printers, wifi, meeting rooms, and lounge areas.

Power Brake and Spring and Ancon Construction are excited to announce a renovation project at a facility in South Bend.  The company is relocating their operations, services, and parts from their existing Western Avenue location. The project, which will be overseen by Project Manager Doug VonGunten, will include conversion of second floor space into closed and open office areas. Construction will also take place in the warehouse area.  The project is expected to be complete near the end of March.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was conducted earlier this month to dedicate the new high-tech mixer operation at Hoosier’s production facility in Plymouth. The new mixer is expected to satisfy Hoosier’s rubber mixing needs for years to come.  Hoosier’s Vice President of Engineering and Manufacturing John DeSalle welcomed representatives from both the public and private sectors to the dedication ceremony.   Attending the celebration included Plymouth’s Mayor Mark Senter, the members of the Plymouth City Council, Mike Delp, Duane Culp, Don Ecker Jr., Wayne Smith and Shawn Grobe and Marshall County Economic Development Corporation’s Jennifer Laurent.  Also in attendance were 1st Source Bank’s Joe Kuzmitz, NIPSCO’s Jeff Nemeth, Ancon Construction’s Gary Wetzel and Doug VonGunten, Maust Architectural’s Michael Maust and representatives from Herman & Goetz.

Ground was broken almost one year ago to the day for the 30,000 square foot new facility that increases Hoosier’s mixing capacity nearly three-fold as the company prepares for future growth opportunities.  DeSalle noted, “We are extremely confident and excited about our future here at Hoosier Tire. We are recognized as the largest race tire manufacturer in the world shipping to more than 70 countries.”  In the words of the company’s co-founder, Bob Newton, who passed away before seeing the completion of the project, “This was a window of opportunity that we plan on taking full advantage of.”  DeSalle concluded, “We are fortunate to live and work in a great community that supports us. We have a very dedicated and talented work force and I am proud of every one of them.”  The new mixer has been fully tested and verified and at the conclusion of the ceremony was immediately powered up and put into operation.

Hoosier Racing Tire and Ancon Construction have had a working relationship since 1982.  Ancon has built approximately 40 projects for Hoosier Racing Tire and the Newton Family including Newton Park in Lakeville.

 

Afdent and Ancon Construction are excited to announce a building project on Douglas Road in Mishawaka.  The project, adjacent to Afdent’s existing facility, will be a two story dental center consisting of ten exam rooms, reception/lobby area, lab/sterile rooms, offices, break room, and conference room.  The project, overseen by Project Manager Cullen Stanger, is expected to be complete in March 2013.  Work will also include new site development, reworking the parking areas, sidewalks, and drive lane to create a cohesive campus layout with the existing Afdent building, which was also built by Ancon Construction in 2001.
