Ancon Completes Oxbow Tower

With more than three years of design, planning, and fundraising efforts, the new Oxbow Tower opened to the public on Saturday, November 1st.  Elkhart County Parks, Ancon Construction, and approximately 150 people attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the 34’ tall structure.  Location within the park system, the utilization of an existing hill, ADA compliance, size and proportion of viewing levels for classroom use, and longevity/durability were all important factors in resurrecting a community beacon icon.

Project Manager Ken Wright, Designer Matthew VanSoest, and Field Superintendent Tony Black oversaw the approximate two month construction timeframe.  Ancon appreciates and cherishes the relationship and partnership with Elkhart County Parks on this project.
