JOB DESCRIPTION As architect, Matthew and the Architectural design team listen to the owner’s specific needs to develop preliminary building concepts and unique design ideas. The Ancon design team uses the latest computer-aided design (CAD) software to prepare drawings including site plans, floor plans, elevations, details, and 3-D computer models that help the owner to better visualize and understand the proposed design. He works in conjunction with the estimators/project managers during the pricing phase to provide alternative details and value engineering options for owner consideration. He also performs building code review and oversees the preparation of construction documents for state plan review and construction.

SELECTED CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENT AND WHY
In 2008, I was able to implement a three year research initiative at Ball State and include many design principles from the study into a state of the art charter school in South Bend, Indiana.
WHY I DO THIS
As a designer, I find satisfaction in making a client’s dreams come true through my talents. I am eager to be a leader in making our society and civilization a better place to work and live through innovative and sustainable ideas and by pushing the boundaries of design and “thinking outside the box.”
